Tiny Shares Her Reason for Permanently Changing Eye Color
When Tiny revealed that she permanently changed her eye color from brown to ice gray, her followers criticized her for trying to shed her Black identity. In a recent interview with ABC News, the 39-year-old singer explained why she decided to fly out to Africa to go under the knife and how the controversial procedure occurred.
"I just wanted to do something different and I have the right to do that," she said. "It's my body."
The procedure, still illegal in the United States, consists of placing a medical-grade silicone disc in her eye.
"They go into the eye and they make a little slit," Harris explained. "They take an implant and it's folded up. They open it [and] spread it over your eye.
"They told me that the procedure was going to be quick, five to 10 minutes an eye," she said. "They woke me up. It was very blurry, then it kind of fades in."
As for what her husband T.I. had to say about her drastic change, "He was like, 'What are you doing?' But he loves them. He's OK with them as long as they're healthy and I'm not having any problems."
Health problems stemming from the procedure could include glaucoma, cataracts and corneal issues as well as losing your vision entirely, but hey, as long as she's happy, right?
