Michelle Obama Says Bangs Are Her Midlife Crisis
Michelle Obama knows when to poke fun at herself and during a recent interview with talk show host Rachel Ray, the first lady said that her new bangs were inspired by a midlife crisis as she approached her 49th birthday.
"This is my midlife crisis, the bangs. I couldn't get a sports car," Obama joked over Skype. "They won't let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs."
The public began buzzing over the new haircut when FLOTUS debuted the look on Twitter in January. While a few questioned the change, like Karl Lagerfeld, who said the bangs were a "bad idea," President Obama felt the exact opposite.
"I love her bangs. She looks good. She always looks good," Obama said at a reception in Washington last month.
