Paula Patton Shares Her Makeup Tips
Paula Patton has been fond of playing dress up and putting on her mother's makeup since she was a little girl and though she says that she'd do her face too garishly for a 10-year-old, the CoverGirl spokesperson has since glammed up her look.
“I always love a lip,” she recalls to People. “A berry color, or even a soft nude. Plus a little color on my cheeks. It makes such a big difference on your face, and lets your eyes come through. Colors that are bright affect my mood, and put me in a happier place.”
So much so that she uses makeup every day even if it's a minimal hint of color. “I put a little on every day, regardless of if I’m going to be on camera or not,” the CoverGirl spokeswoman shares. “It makes me feel like I’m ready to face the day. Having a little one in the house [son Julian, 20 months] you’re always tired, so making yourself look less tired is a good thing.”
Because every great look should start with healthy skin underneath, Patton also works to maintain good habits like eating a balanced diet, drinking water, washing off makeup before bed, and applying an oxygen facial or mask. Her biggest beauty secret is one that comes at no cost: laughing frequently.
“I think it affects the way you look overall,” she explains. “I don’t know how many people are getting 10 hours of sleep a night, but you find someplace within and let that [beauty] emanate outward.”
