Bill Cosby Scores a Win Against Janice Dickinson, But There's a Catch
Here's some somewhat good news for Bill Cosby. According to Page Six, a Los Angeles judge tossed a defamation lawsuit by alleged sexual assault victim Janice Dickinson, earlier today. However, Cosby's not completely off the hook as the former supermodel's underlying assault complaint is still going forward.
Janice Dickinson accused the former TV dad of raping her in 1982, but the actor's attorney, Marty Singer, labeled her a "liar."
In an attempt to prove her claim, she amended her lawsuit to include a defamation claim against Cosby and Singer, but it was tossed out by LA County Superior Court Judge Debra Weintraub.
"The primary focus of this case has always been against Bill Cosby and remains against Bill Cosby," Dickinson's attorney, Lisa Bloom, said following the hearing. "We will continue to fight the case against Bill Cosby."
While all three parties — Dickinson, Cosby and Singer — were absent from court when the ruling was made, Judge Weintraub ordered they all appear on February 29.
