Hollywood came together to honor the late, great Quincy Jones at the Governors Awards, with touching tributes from Rashida and Jamie Foxx highlighting his unparalleled legacy of love and music. Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson brought holiday cheer to families from the Watts Empowerment Center with a special screening of his upcoming film, Red One, and gifts. 

Elsewhere, WNBA star Angel Reese cemented her status as a fashion influencer after earning high honors from Footwear News. 

  • A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie brings Thanksgiving joy to NYC teens

    A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie partnered with Dara Mirjahangiry, co-owner of Sei Less, to host a Thanksgiving dinner for 50 teenagers from Children of Promise, NYC, an organization that supports youth impacted by the criminal justice system. 

    The event was held at the Asian fusion restaurant and included signature dishes like Beijing chicken and lo mein. 

    The rapper made a surprise appearance, sharing his gratitude and inspiring attendees with his message of thankfulness and community support.

  • Dwayne Johnson spreads holiday joy to families across Watts

    Wrestler-turned-Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson, in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, hosted an advance screening of their holiday action comedy Red One for families from the Watts Empowerment Center. 

    Johnson surprised attendees with a personal appearance, while Amazon donated a bus to the center and distributed STEM-focused toys in partnership with Wondery Kids x Wow in the World, embodying the spirit of giving central to the film.

  • Rashida Jones and Jamie Foxx honor Quincy Jones

    At the Motion Picture Academy’s Governors Awards on November 17, Rashida Jones and Jamie Foxx delivered touching tributes to the late Quincy Jones, who passed away on November 3 from pancreatic cancer at 91. 

    Rashida accepted an honorary Oscar on behalf of her father, sharing excerpts from a speech he had written before his passing and reflecting on his legacy of love and cultural impact across musical genres. 

    Jamie Foxx also honored Quincy, celebrating his creativity, brilliance in cinema, and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome, a cause close to both their hearts.

    WNBA star and fashionista Angel Reese has been honored as Style Influencer of the Year at the 2024 Footwear News Achievement Awards, also known as the "Shoe Oscars." 

    The ceremony is set to take place on Dec. 4 in New York City, celebrating influential figures in footwear and fashion.

    Reese expressed her gratitude, highlighting how her partnership with Reebok reflects her confident, authentic approach to personal style.
