Cissy Houston Pens Apology Letter to Bobbi Kristina Brown
Cissy Houston is trying hard to make amends with her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina Brown after a rift caused by the release of Houston's memoirs has left them estranged.
Whitney Houston's mom wrote an open apology letter to her granddaughter on Wednesday, hoping to get back on speaking terms with the recently-engaged Brown. "Krissi, all I want for you is your good health and your happiness. I want you to have a good life that you can be proud of," the letter begins.
Houston goes on to express her concerns over Brown's plans to wed Nick Gordon, the young man who Whitney raised like a son. "Do I want you to get married in the near future? No, I don’t. I think you’re too young and I wish you’d wait. But that’s because I’m grandma. I’m supposed to worry about you," she says.
"I’m supposed to wonder if Nick or ANY man is good enough for you, My Baby’s Baby," the letter continues. "I’m not angry with Nick and I don’t think, nor did I ever say anything hurtful about him to anyone. I have NEVER publicly commented on your personal life and I don’t intend to. So in the future when you read or hear that Cissy Houston said this or Cissy Houston said that, be confident in the knowledge that it isn’t true."
Houston reportedly doesn't approve of Brown's impending nuptials or her fast-paced lifestyle. Things came to a head between the two when Houston revealed family secrets in her memoir. The two also disagreed over issues relating to Whitney Houston's estate.
As the two people who were impacted the most by Whitney's death, hopefully they'll resolve their differences soon.
