R. Kelly Reportedly Pleading To Be Released From Solitary Confinement
R. Kelly’s luck while behind bars is continuing on its downtrodden path according to a report from TMZ, which states his latest plea to a federal judge.
The site claims to have obtained documents showing the lawyer of the jailed R&B singer filed for the motion. In them, Kelly’s lawyer reportedly cites that the solitary area where he’s being held is intended to punish him instead of provide him proper confinement while he awaits trial.
Steven Greenberg, perhaps Kelly’s most vocal attorney, reportedly shared that he’s been deprived of human interaction, outdoors time, media access, physical activity, and even in-person visitation that isn't recorded. TMZ adds Greenberg’s claims that he’s also stripped of personal care and rights, such as being allowed only three showers a week and one 15-minute phone call per month.
His lawyer reportedly believes these are all deliberate moves targeted at his client due to his “celebrity status” and heinous sex crime charges. Ultimately, Kelly’s attorney is urging for the release on behalf of his physical and mental health, which he argues that the solitary confinement is taking a major toll on, TMZ concludes.
