Report: Chicago Rapper Fredo Santana Passes Away
The music scene just lost another young beloved rapper in Chicago MC Fredo Santana, as revealed by several of his peers and former collaborators. He was 27.
The news was first shared by Santana's close friend Maxo Kream who took to Instagram to share how distraught he was to hear of his passing.
"I'm lost for words right now," he wrote. "I'm cryin my a*s off Fredo I love yu [sic]. B***h RIP."

Santana — real name Derrick Coleman — was known mostly for helping introduce Chicago's drill music takeover back in 2012 with the aid of his cousin Chief Keef.
He made a name for himself in the music industry, founding his own record label, Savage Squad, where he released his debut album, Trappin' Ain't Dead, back in 2013. After releasing dozens of projects — both mixtapes and albums — he dropped what is now his final project, Fredo Kruger 2, in 2017.
The rapper has had longtime struggles with his health, as he detailed on a few occasions that he suffered from complications with his liver, kidneys and even suffered from seizures. He opened up on Instagram back in October 2017, revealing to his fans that he was hospitalized with liver failure.
Santana is survived by one son who was born in 2017. He anxiously announced the news to his Instagram followers, captioning a series of photos, "It's a BOY my first child."
