People Aren't Happy About Kid From Kid N' Play Impersonating Colin Kaepernick In Viral Photo
The internet erupted in outrage after a photo of FS1 commentator Jason Whitlock and a man impersonating Colin Kaepernick went viral. For a while, the frustrations were turned to Whitlock, who used his FS1 segment to make fun of the beloved football player and activist. But after the identity of the man behind the gimmick was revealed, critics quickly redirected their attention. Apparently, the impersonator was Kid from hip-hop duo Kid N’ Play and people are not happy about it.
TMZ reportedly made the discovery shortly after the pic was posted. In the viral photo, Kid — whose real name is Christopher Reid — was seen wearing a NFL jersey with a fake afro and mustache, mimicking the free agent. Reid was also raising a closed fist in the air, seemingly poking fun at Kaepernick’s stance on Black Lives Matter and other politics.
Whitlock has received an outpour of criticism since posting the photo online. Don Cheadle also joined the chatter, calling the commentator out on Twitter. But what fans truly don’t understand is why Kid decided to take part in the skit. A number of Twitter users have also begun to boycott Kid’s previous movie classics. “Just found out that was Kid from Kid N’ Play that did Kap diss with Jason Whitlock. Can’t watch House Party or Class Act ever again, smh,” one person said.
Kid has not confirmed that it was him in the photo or offered an explanation for the questionable stunt.
