LOL: T.I. Got Jokes on Donald Trump
T.I. always keeps it real when voicing his opinions on this year's forthcoming election, on top of pushing forward the movement for a better future through his politically charged music.
In fact, he's been extremely vocal about his opposition of Donald Trump from the very beginning of this presidential campaign, especially in regard to the candidate's blatant disregard of the Black community and how Trump will never "make America great again" because he doesn't care about Black lives. In fact, T.I. took things as far as to say that anyone who supports him would never support Trump.
During a recent interview on Shade45, Tip continued expressing his opinions about the election while also throwing in some of the best jokes towards the Republican candidate we've heard.
While promoting his new Us or Else EP, his on-air conversation focused on what can be done to help improve relationships between law enforcement and people of color, as well as talking about how there needs to be accountability.
“It’s the way the travesties are handled, because of course in any society you’re going to have legal mishaps,” he says. “It’s almost as though no one even considers the thought of accountability. It’s almost like, ‘Yeah, what are you gonna expect? Of course he’s gonna get off. It’s a Black guy and a cop.’ It’s just complete disregard for basic human rights.”
After spitting some serious truth about police brutality and racial tension, the conversation shifted towards Trump, with T.I. comparing the candidate to the likes of Jabba the Hutt. He also goes on to add that he thinks one of the hairless cats owned by Dr. Evil (from the Austin Powers series) is hidden under Trump's skin. He really took it there, and it's too funny.
While T.I. definitely has some on-point jokes when it comes to discussing the candidate he publicly despises, he also knows when to be completely serious. He also has been urging people to get out and vote, because refusing to vote isn't going to help our country work out any of our problems.
"Making no decision at all is unacceptable," he says. "If you cannot decide which is absolutely the best thing for the country, try to think of what’s the absolute worst for the country. Then, just go against that. That is where you should begin your decision-making process.”
Take a listen to the rapper's wise (and hilarious) words during his recent Shade45 interview in the clip below, with his Trump joke appearing around the 13:50 mark.
