Diddy Presenting Drake With A VMA Was As Awkward As You Think
The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards are underway, and the ceremony’s first awkward moment goes to Diddy. While taking the stage to present the second VMA of the night, Diddy was tasked with giving the Best Hip-Hop Video award to none other than his on-again, off-again, nemesis: Drake.
After announcing that Drizzy’s “Hotline Bling” was the recipient of the coveted Moonman, Diddy made a joke (?) that Drake was “stuck in traffic,” and was unable to accept the honor. He ended the presentation by instructing the Toronto hitmaker to “come get this” and threatened to take his trophy home – in jest, we assume.
Drake and Diddy’s history is one of disputes over beats, alleged club fights, shots on wax and questionable reconciliations. Most recently, talks of amends between the two lingered after Diddy was spotted at the North Carolina stop on Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” tour. Just months prior, however, The 6 God released “4pm In Calabasas,” where he launched several jabs at the Bad Boy mogul. After tonight’s award presentation, it’s safe to say that no one really knows where these two stand.
