Octavia Spencer Puts On The Villain Hat In Explosive New 'Ma' Trailer, And Twitter Is Shook

The actress is showing a completely different side.

Octavia Spencer is known for being one of the most talented and under-appreciated talents in Hollywood. Since her roles in recent memory have seen her boast likable personas, fans were shocked to learn that her latest sees her stray away from that expectation.

Brace yourselves, because Ms. Spencer is putting her villain hat on, and she's out for blood — literally.

In the recently released trailer for her forthcoming horror/psychological thriller film, Ma, the Academy Award-winning actress stars as a lonely woman who torments teenagers for pleasure.

The trailer shows a group of teenagers who recruit Spencer's "Ma" character to buy them alcohol. Things take an unexpected turn when she offers up the basement of her Ohio home for them to party as often as they'd like. As things progress, however, Ma becomes obsessed with the group of kids and terrifyingly inserts herself into their private and family lives and eventually seems to even murder some of them.

The film's synopsis warns, "What began as a teenage dream turns into a terrorizing nightmare."
