Celebrities React To The Tragic Case Of Cyntoia Brown
Some celebrities are using their star power for good. Everyone from Kim Kardashian to T.I. are speaking out on the case of former child sex slave Cyntoia Brown.
If you aren't familiar with the case, Brown was a teenage runway who was forced into drugs and prostitution. In 2004, she shot and killed Tennessee real estate agent Johnny Allen, who paid to have sex with her when she was 16. According to Cyntoia, she was in his home, which was filled with firearms, he was behaving strangely and she shot him because she was in fear for her life. She is now serving life in person.
If there were any justice in the world, the now 25-year-old sex trafficking victim would be prosecuted much differently.
Due to the power of social media, many people are outraged, including celebrities like Kim Kardashian. See her post below:
Sadly, many people in the criminal justice system have horrible public defenders, which is arguably the case for Cyntoia. Putting powerful attorneys behind the 25-year-old just might be a step closer to justice. Kudos to Kim Kardashian for taking this step.
Here are other celebs who are speaking out.
