Drake Has Quite the Shady Response to a Line From Jay-Z's '4:44'
Jay-Z and Drake have both jabbed lightly at each other since the onset of their speculated beef dating all the way back to 2014.
Now that Jay has rolled out his platinum-selling 4:44 undertaking, which has gotten under some of hip-hop’s skin, Drizzy just couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to apply a little more pressure to another dig at the Roc Nation honcho.
By now, we should all be aware of Jay’s “Story of O.J.” directive about those Instagram-heavy “money phone” pictures.
“Y’all on the ’Gram holdin’ money to your ear,” Hov raps. “There’s a disconnect, we don’t call that money over here.”
Perhaps the two racks that Drizzy was holding up to his ears in a new clip circulating on social media made him miss the memo, however. While partying up in Houston for the city’s HAW festivities, Champagne Papi caught a quick bout of hearing loss from the line.
“What they say, don’t put those to your ear?,” he said in the clip, pressing two handfuls of racks to his ears. “I didn’t hear that.”
Apparently, he and his What a Time to Be Alive collaborator Future must be suffering the same hearing loss. Just a couple of weeks ago, the Atlanta trap star took to social media with a similar message to Drizzy’s, boasting a stack of cash to his ear in the midst of all the 4:44 talk. Migos’ Takeoff, however, took heed to Jay’s line and decided to switch up on the ‘Gram flexing instead, so Jay’s words haven’t completely gone to waste.
