Iman Shumpert Remixes Drake's 'Hotline Bling'
The Cleveland Cavaliers are less than two weeks from tipping off the 2015-16 NBA season against the Chicago Bulls on October 27, but Iman Shumpert is still finding the time to perform a little lyrical exercise.
The latest track that the Cavs' shooting guard is spitting to? Drake's banger "Hotline Bling," calling it "Highlight Reel."
The record has Shump flipping Drake's hook, "I know when that hotline bling" to "I know ya'll love my highlight reel, but understand the work it takes."
He proceeds to touch on the Cavaliers' six-game NBA Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors this past June and re-signing with Cleveland with a four-year, $40 million extension in July.
"Try to comprehend my mental thing/When I took that 'L' to Golden State/I signed for 40, now I'm cooool/I went and got my family straight," Shumpert rhymes.
Towards the end of the track, Shump says, "The whole league want to rap now, look what I started."
Specifically, Shumpert, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard and Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Lance Stephenson are at the forefront of NBA ballers rhyming these days.
Although they're not bad... they shouldn't quit their day jobs. The season is about to start!
