As Waka Flocka Flame made his rounds doing interviews in New York City yesterday (April 13), his mother and manager Deb Antney was by his side. But in an interview with MTV's RapFix, Ms. Antney admits that she originally didn't take Waka's rap career seriously.

"[Waka] was really angry at me. He kept bringing me his music and I wasn’t listening to it. I didn’t want to hear anything that he had to say," says Momma Flame. Antney, originally from Queens, says that she told her son if he wanted her to listen, he would have to "leave the streets alone."

"My famous line to him was ‘you gonna trap or rap?" she says. But Antney says that she was impressed by Waka's "Oh Let's Do It," and eventually put him under the Mizay Management umbrella.
