Kim Kardashian Sues Old Navy for Casting a Model Who Looks Like Her \r \r
Don’t mess with Kim Kardashian’s assets! The reality star filed a lawsuit against Old Navy claiming they intentionally used a look-a-like model in their ads to get the public to think she was endorsing the brand. The “Super C-U-T-E” ad that first aired in February does seem to play off of Kim’s reality fame with the model singing “This is real life/ I’m not posing for a magazine,” before being followed by the paparazzi while doing day-to-day tasks—a hair appointment, a root canal, a walk with the dog, you know the mundane things we watch Kim do in her reality shows.
Old Navy even acknowledged how much the model, Melissa Molinaro, looks like Kardashian and tweeted her just to point it out: "Breaking News!! @CBSNEWS reports that Old Navy's Super CUTE star looks like @kimkardashian. #LOL. What do you think?"
Kim wasn’t impressed and according to TMZ she’s even more “furious” that the company’s tweeting her to give her more publicity. She believes that the “copycat campaign” has generated $15 to $20 million dollars and she wants that money back.
Molinaro was recently rumored to be dating Kim’s ex Reggie Bush, but the up and coming actress says her Kardashian resemblance is just a coincidence and even pulled out the Old Navy casting call description in an interview with E! news to prove they weren’t looking for a Kim doppelganger. “It says description: looking for a true dance pop superstar...this performer has an experimental vocal style that borrows influences from music legends such as Prince, David Bowie and Madonna. Wardrobe: think Prince, Lady Gaga, Madonna and David Bowie.”
Does that sound like Kim to you?
