Wale: Rick Ross Drive-By Shooting Is No Joke
Rick Ross made headlines last week when he was the target of a drive-by shooting in Florida after leaving his birthday dinner. Though the Maybach Music Group CEO and his female passenger barely survived the harrowing experience, it didn't stop many from making light of the incident on social media.
Ross has been keeping a low profile since the attempt on his life, but MMG label-mate Wale broke his silence while speaking with Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5. Wale dismissed the accusations from 50 Cent that the shooting was a publicity stunt and condemned those who have joked about the matter.
When asked to give his thoughts about the public reaction to the incident Wale stated, "I think the whole thing's been blown up, I think the media is perpetuating a lot of things."
The "Slight Work" rapper expressed further disgust with the many jokes made about the attempt on Rozay's life.
"God forbid something happens to anybody, they'll be playing people's records all day and acting like you know...I even unfollowed a lot of people on Twitter while that was happening because it's a joke to y'all cause you see somebody on TV every day, but what if that's your friend? Cause that's my friend."
While police are still investigating the shooting, Rick Ross has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
