Sean Kingston Gives First Interview Since Accident

He talks about his recovery, slimmer figure and future projects.

Singer Sean Kingston talked with MTV News' Sway for his first televised interview since a May jet-skiing accident left him with a shattered wrist, broken jaw and water in his lungs. He later received two open heart surgeries as a result of his injuries. Now the singer is back and ready to jump right to work.

First off, the noticeably slimmer artist says the weight loss he's experienced during his recovery has inspired him to lose even more. "My goal is just to get healthy as far as what my ideal weight has to be for my height," he says.

For this, he's enlisted the help of a trainer and who knows? We could see him flaunt his new body aboard a jet ski in the future. "I'm definitely going to be jet-skiing again," he says. "I have to overcome my fear. It wasn't the jet ski, it was not knowing the area."

As far as his music goes, Kingston is hoping to have a new single out by December and "going in another direction with producer J.R. [Rotem]."

"The whole reggae island pop thing. Going back to my roots. I'm back with him. I love him more than anything. We're about to kill it, man," he says.
