The Weeknd Premieres A Cover of R. Kelly's "Down Low"
The Weeknd and Drake seem to be on good terms as of late and in honor of the newfound unity, the Toronto rapper decided to let the Toronto singer debut a new joint of his on OVO Sound Radio.
The Weeknd premiered his cover of R. Kelly’s “Down Low (Nobody Has to Know),” a song he had already been performing live for the past few years. The new release is just the latest taste of fresh music from the him. Earlier this week he teased new music while preparing to hit the road for the next part of his Starboy Tour.
On Instagram yesterday (September 8), The Weeknd prepped Saturday’s release with a logo of the show and the simple caption, “Down Low.”
Perhaps better than The Weeknd’s latest song drop is what might've came of it. There seems to be a good chance that he and Drizzy could be working on new music together soon.
Captured by New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica, Drake commented on The Weeknd’s post hinting at his newest song, writing: "Subliminally trying to tell you we need to make music."
Oh we are so here for it. 6 Gods connect!
