Human Remains Discovered In Search For Missing Geologist Daniel Robinson
Investigators have uncovered human remains in the desert near the city of Buckeye, Ariz., where volunteer-led searches have been conducted in hopes of finding 24-year-old geologist Daniel Robinson, who has been missing since June.
On Sunday (November 7), in a video update posted on Twitter, Robinson’s father and a private investigator said the remains do not appear to be that of Robinson, however, they hope that once the remains are identified, it will provide “closure to another grieving family.”
According to Phoenix station KNXV, the Buckeye Police Department confirmed on Sunday in an email that officers responded to a call about possible human remains that were found as well as “other evidence” in the area of Sun Valley Parkway. The remains have been sent out for official DNA testing and identification, Buckeye police say.
Robinson went missing on June 23 when he left a remote worksite near Buckeye and did not inform anyone of where he was going. His Jeep was subsequently discovered in July in a ravine about three miles from the worksite. His clothes, boots, phone, wallet, and keys were found inside the vehicle.
Family and friends say Robinson was not acting like himself prior to his disappearance, but there was no indication he would go missing.
