Hamidou Diallo Won The 2019 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest With An Incredible Tribute To Vince Carter
Hamidou Diallo won the NBA All-Star weekend dunk contest last night by stealing the show with a jaw-dropping move.
The Oklahoma City Thunder guard decided to pay tribute to Vince Carter’s amazing rim-elbow dunk from 20 years ago. Not only that, he completed the dunk over Shaquille O’Neal — who stands at 7’1” tall.
The crowd and home viewers already knew the dunk was going to be special, as Diallo revealed a Superman shirt he was wearing prior to performing his contest-winning dunk.
Diallo’s dunk was the first dunk of the final round as he defeated New York Knicks point guard Dennis Smith Jr., who failed to make a dunk in his first attempt of the final.
Smith attempted to jump over Dwyane Wade and catch a lob from Stephen Curry to give himself a chance with his last dunk. While it received a perfect score from the judges, the crowd booed as if they were unimpressed.
During the contest-clinching final dunk, Hamidou Diallo called for Quavo to come out of the crowd and put the ball in his hands. He then grabbed it and went airborne for the slam.

The other two dunk contest participants were Charlotte's Miles Bridges and Atlanta's John Collins.
Hamidou Diallo’s Dunk Contest victory came after Brooklyn’s Joe Harris defeated Steph Curry in a major upset during the 3-Point Contest.
