Horrifying Police Dash Cam Video Reveals Philando Castile Was Shot Immediately After Saying He Was Licensed to Carry

People believe the tape reveals he was murdered in cold blood.

The dash cam video of the fatal shooting of Philando Castile was publicly released just days after the police officer involved was acquitted on all charges. The tape shows the moment the conversation between Officer Jeronimo Yanez and Philando Castile turned into a tragic shooting, reported The Washington Post.

When Castile was first shot, many people saw the immediate aftermath because Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, live streamed it on Facebook. However, in the recently released video, it is revealed how quickly Yanez drew his weapon and opened fire on Castile.

In the beginning of the video, Yanez informs Castile he has a broken taillight. Moments into the conversation, Castile calmly informs Yanez that he is legally carrying a weapon.

“Sir, I have to tell you I do have a firearm on me,” Castile said.

Officer Yanez, who reaches towards his gun, says, “OK, don’t reach for it then.”

  • In the video, Yanez shoots Castile in front of his girlfriend and her child

“Don’t pull it out!” Yanez yells.

“I’m not pulling it out,” Mr. Castile answers.

Officer Yanez then repeatedly yells “Don’t pull it out!” before firing seven shots toward Castile.

“I wasn’t reaching,” Mr. Castile says after the gunfire.

After the shooting, Officer Yanez keeps his gun pointed into the car as he calls for backup and an ambulance. Reynolds's daughter can be seen exiting the car and getting taken away from the scene by another officer.

  • After the video was published, many people responded with outrage and disbelief

  • Other's questioned why the NRA has not commented on the shooting of a legal gun owner
