The Internet Is Gagging Up Their Food After Learning The Real Meaning Of The 'Electric Slide' Dance...
Whether at your aunt’s annual summer cookout, your cousin’s destination wedding, the block party around the corner, or even the kid’s birthday parties, the Electric Slide is a classic for any celebratory occasion.
Unbeknownst to all of us, up until Thursday (June 28) that is, one of those occasions includes solo sexy time according to Huffington Post, which just exposed the real meaning behind the song. Neville Livingston, the song’s original songwriter, reportedly confirmed with a close source that the song is actually about a vibrator, and is “surprised it took people this long to figure out,” reports Aazios. The idea came to the 71-year-old Jamaican artist to write such a record inspired by a sex toy after a girlfriend told him she had one of her own that she called the “electric slide” and was apparently good enough to replace him.
We know—it’s hard to believe one of our favorite party-unifying, family-friendly (or so we thought) dance pastimes is actually an ode of sorts to eroticism. But when you take a look at the lyrics, it all makes sense, but the internet is still not yet willing to accept the ruin of this childhood memory just yet.
See how the internet is taking it all in below.
