Dwight Howard's Ex Says Their Son Is Still Terrified of Him

Royce Reed is upset that the NBA star is off the hook in his child abuse case.

Houston Rockets star Dwight Howard is off the hook in his child abuse case and his ex, Royce Reed, is furious about it, as she says their son is still scared of his father. According to TMZ, Howard was being investigated by the Atlanta Police Department back in 2014 for allegedly hitting the 7-year-old with a belt buckle. Within no time, the Florida Department of Children and Families closed the investigation, claiming that there were "no substantiated findings of physical injuries."

The former Basketball Wives star is reportedly fuming at the decision, with a source saying that, "She's extremely upset by the way the system neglected to defend her son... She never asked for Dwight to be arrested. She asked for him to get help and take parenting classes. Her child is terrified of his father."

Howard's attorney is reiterating the claim that his client is innocent, telling TMZ, "Several law enforcement agencies have thoroughly investigated the allegations and all decided against filing charges."

The lawyer ends his statement by taking a jab at Reed, who he says manipulates the media through her son: "It is sad that Royce Reed continues to use her son as a pawn with the media, despite court orders prohibiting her from doing so."
