'House of Payne' Dives Into Therapy, Lies, and Love Languages

Calvin’s counseling confession, Peanut’s fake CEO flex, and CJ and Janine’s love language lesson remind us that honesty really is the best policy.

The latest episode of House of Payne delivers another lesson on the importance of honest communication. We kick things off with Curtis, CJ, and Calvin hanging out in the senior Paynes’ living room. Soon, it’s revealed that Calvin and Laura have been going to marriage counseling—and you guessed it, Curtis thinks counseling is for the weak. CJ stays neutral on the topic, even though he and Janine are in the middle of a tiff. She’s mad because he forgot about their date night.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Jasmine, Janine, and Ella are also chopping it up about relationships and therapy. Ella shares that relying on the power of God has kept her and Curtis together, mostly because therapy wasn’t something they were raised to consider.

But honestly... therapy wouldn’t hurt, right?

In other news, Peanut drops by with a surprise announcement—he’s engaged. Naturally, everyone is shocked, and for good reason. He reveals he met the woman online, has never met her in person, and wants to borrow Calvin’s condo to impress her. Why? Because he told her he’s the CEO of a major company. Calvin reluctantly agrees, but we all know this is going to backfire.

Fast forward to the date: Peanut quickly finds out his fiancée just wants to marry rich and be a kept woman. Womp womp. Things take a wild turn when Laura shows up—clearly unaware of Calvin’s little arrangement. Calvin rolls through, realizing he forgot to give Laura a heads-up, and everything falls apart. Peanut is forced to come clean, but ultimately realizes he dodged a bullet. So naturally, he heads to the strip club to celebrate.

Finally, the episode wraps with Jasmine stepping in to help CJ and Janine get back on track by teaching them about love languages. It’s just enough to help them start communicating again.
Moral of the story? Honesty and communication are always the move.
