It’s been nine years since Eve dropped an album, and last night the rapper rocked an outfit on stage at the National Breast Cancer Coalition Benefit in New York that looked like she tried to fit in every trend she’s missed while taking a break.

There’s a lot going on here: floppy hat, statement necklace, bangles, denim bustier, blazer, leather leggings, jeweled sling backs!? Yes, the seasons are changing and it can be hard to dress in Mother Nature’s schizophrenic turns, but this is a very interesting transitional outfit. The top is almost too summery for the fall feel of the rest of the outfit, and pumps would’ve looked much better with the pants than those strappy sandals.

There are likable elements (the leggings are cool for instance) but a little — ok, a lot — of editing could’ve made this outfit better. Glad to see E-V-E back on the scene, though!
