We've seen a lot of questionable casting choices in the past, but this one is perhaps the craziest one yet. A 30-minute television special on Michael Jackson, which focusing on his fabled post-9/11 road trip from New York to Los Angeles with Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor, is in the works. Brian Cox and Stockard Channing have been cast as Brando and Taylor, respectively, but the King of Pop will be played by British actor and Ralph Fiennes's little brother Joseph Fiennes.

“I got the script the other day,” Fiennes explained to WENN. “It’s a challenge. It’s a comedy. It doesn’t poke mean fun but it’s a story, possibly urban legend, whereby Michael, Marlon Brando and Liz Taylor were all together the day before 9/11 doing a concert. Airspace was shut down and they couldn’t get out and Michael had the bright idea to go to hire a car and drive.”
Fiennes never addressed the real interesting aspect of the upcoming film in the interview, but Twitter, of course, is not here for any of it:

This news makes Spike Lee's upcoming documentary on the King of Pop all the more urgent. We can't even imagine how Jackson's family will feel about this.
