Pharrell Goes Green
The Ice Cream man taps into his inner N.E.R.D. to help raise awareness for World Earth Day.
Pharrell is joining forces with Kiehl’s, a skin and hair care brand, to create a limited edition eco-tote. The bag is designed using Bionic Yarn technology, which generates fabrics out of recycled plastic bottles.
It's the perfect partnership for Pharrell, who is co-owner of the New York–based company Return Textiles, an eco-friendly material manufacturer and creator of Bionic Yarn. “My mission is to recycle as much plastic possible in my lifetime and beyond in the form of high-quality products,” the mega-producer, who merged bottle artwork into his design for the tote bag, told Interview magazine. "Wow, the sky is the limit. Lab coats, denim, uniforms, scrubs, T-shirts, line of home products, toys. We want to be the material used to make everything."
To win the cool carry-on, Pharrell's fans and green-minded fashionistas are asked to participate in the “Recycle and Be Rewarded” initiative by bringing an empty Kiehl’s container to a local Kiehl's store between April and June.
