Tekashi 6ix9ine Expects To Be Released From Prison In 2020
The exact details of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s plea deal are still being fleshed out after the Brooklyn-bred MC's whirlwind testimony against Nine Trey Bloods members Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack in court, Thursday (Sept. 19).
One of the most heavily speculated aspects of the case has been when Tekashi will be getting out of prison, given how much information he reportedly gave up to the authorities in exchange for a plea deal. The New York Times recently published a report suggesting an offer to enter the witness protection program following the trial was on the table.
Although he hasn’t been sentenced yet, the Dummy Boy artist was initially looking at serving between 47 years to life in prison after he pled guilty to racketeering, conspiracy, weapon possession and drug trafficking charges.
In exchange for his help with incriminating multiple Nine Trey Bloods associates, prosecutors agreed that they would push for a lighter sentence. The “FEFE” rapper’s legal team was reportedly pressing that Tekashi’s sentence be amended to time already served.
According to Tekashi, he believes he’ll be out of jail as early as next year.
The 23-year-old apparently took on the witness stand while he was being cross-examined by Mack’s lawyer.
During cross-examination, the attorney posed the question to Tekashi, “If you get time served you'd get out at the beginning of next year, correct?” To which he replied “Correct.”

Although the exact conditions of his release have not officially been disclosed, it seems Tekashi already has an out in mind. While he was on the witness stand, Tekashi confirmed he was angling for a 5K1 letter.
According Lawyers.com, a 5K1 is an Attorney General-issued document that a judge can use to decrease a witness prison sentence.
In Tekashi’s case, he could indeed be released for the time he’s already served.
