Tyler Perry, Gelila Bekele Welcome Baby Boy
Christmas came early for Tyler Perry and Gelila Bekele. They welcomed their first child, a source confirms to People. The bundle of joy, who they named Aman Tyler Perry, arrived on Sunday, November 30. “Mom and baby are happy and healthy. Tyler is so excited,” the source reveals, adding that Aman means peace and represents “the true meaning of Thanksgiving and then, of course, the holiday season.”
Perry, 45, and Bekele, 28, revealed they were expecting back in September. The media mogul announced the news to loved ones at his birthday bash at his Atlanta home.
"They are overjoyed and really, really happy," an insider said. "He was so happy in the moment so he told the guests."
Days later, Perry accidentally revealed that the couple was having a son. "The greatest gift I'm being given right now is the opportunity to give the little boy in me everything I never had, so that's what I'm excited about," he said during an interview with Extra.
"This beautiful human being that God has allowed to come into my life for me to get to know, because they come with their own personalities," he continued, "...to shepherd and usher him."
Like all things involving his private life, Perry kept his relationship with Bekele and their baby news secret for as long as possible. Congratulations to Perry and his new family!
