Tupac Impersonator Wreaks Havoc in Philly

Unidentified man claiming to be Shakur attacked local police squad cars with a hammer.

Tupac Shakur made his way to Philadelphia yesterday (March 12), or at least that's what a half-naked man bashing police cars with a hammer wanted cops to believe.

The unidentified man, strapped with a hammer pick (typically used on archaeological digs), started breaking windows and denting cars at around 5:15 a.m., NBC Philadelphia reports.

Dressed in boxer shorts and boots, Faux Pac vandalized several vehicles, including more than a dozen belonging to police, so that he could "prove a point," according to Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Paul Drains. He even took his rampage to the front door of the police station. "He wanted to prove a point that he could actually shut down the police department," Drains said.

"We heard the sound of breaking glass, we went out to investigate to see what was going on, and I observed a male in his boxers with a hammer in his hand," Drains continued. "By the time we had got to the corner he had already broken multiple windows and he had been apprehended by one of our other officers."

When approached, the suspect told cops that he was the deceased rap legend. He was arrested without incident and taken to Jefferson University for evaluation.

The real Shakur was 25 years old when he died from gunshot wounds in 1996, but some believe the outspoken lyricist is still alive. Three years ago, a hacker concocted a PBS story claiming the former Death Row Records artist was living in New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Pac's Philly stunt double could be looking at a felony criminal mischief charge for the hammer attack.
