Kendrick Lamar Confirms Album Title and Release Date
Ending months of rumors and speculation, Kendrick Lamar has confirmed that his major label debut will be called Good Kid, Mad City and is slated to hit stores October 2.
The Black Hippy rapper made the announcement as he closed his first show in the U.K. last night.
In a post-show interview, Lamar told R&R that the highly anticipated album was produced mostly in house. Although he's received his fair share of recognition, the 25-year-old Comptonite said he still has something he wants to prove to the world.
"A lot of artists get to where I'm at and they feel like they made it, so they go out and work with the biggest producers," he said. "I still feel like I need to go out and show and prove myself on my first album that I can stand on my own two feet creatively."
Good Kid, Mad City will be released by TDE/Aftermath/Interscope.
