Many who tuned in to the 2017 Soul Train Awards on Sunday night saw Erykah Badu take a knee in honor of Colin Kaepernick to let the woke, free-agent quarterback know that "this is for Kap" and "Kap, we appreciate you giving your life, giving up your dream because you believe in us."

Well, Kaepernick was really appreciative of Badu's gesture.

And he let the world know just that by retweeting a message from his Know Your Rights Camp, thanking the singer and host of the Soul Train Awards for having his back, as he continues to be unemployed by an NFL franchise after kneeling last year to protest racism and the police brutality of unarmed Black men.

Real definitely recognizes real.

And by the show of the audience giving Erykah a standing ovation and raising their fists, they too appreciated the gesture.
