Toni Braxton Biopic Finds Its Tamar
The television biopic on Toni Braxton is underway, and we now know who will be playing the singer's sister Tamar Braxton in the film. Devious Maids actress Tiffany Hines is cast as the singer/reality star/talk show host, who has risen to fame as an R&B star in her own right.
Unlike the biopics on Whitney Houston and Aaliyah, however, this Lifetime flick has the support of Toni and her family. In fact, the "Unbreak My Heart" singer is not only a producer on the film, which will be directed by Hollywood veteran Vondie Curtis-Hall, but will be playing herself in it.
We'll see if her involvement — no storm of controversy providing free publicity on this one — will help or hurt.
