Stevie J Files For Spousal Support From Faith Evans
Stevie J has filed for spousal support from Faith Evans following the news that the veteran music producer had filed for divorce in November.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Stevie J has not only asked for spousal support from Evans but wants to be absolved from making continuous monthly payments to his estranged wife.
In the filing, the former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star checked the box that says “spousal or domestic partner support payable,” and another box that requests to “terminate the court’s ability to award support to [Evans].”
The former Bad Boy R&B singer-songwriter also wants her to pay his legal fees, the document notes.
On July 17, 2018, the couple wed in Las Vegas but separated on Oct. 19, 2021, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
On Nov. 15, Evans posted an Instagram video of doing cartwheels on the beach with Stevie J. Although it’s not clear when the video was taken, she included the caption, “Get us free, bruh!”
It’s unclear the full context of the video.
Late last month Stevie apologized to Evans after a video surfaced of him “publicly humiliating his wife.”
“I’d like to apologize and say sorry that I even allowed someone to come into my home and steal a computer and be able to do that to us,” he said in a now-deleted Instagram video. “You’re an amazing person. I’d like to apologize to your family, they don’t deserve that either. Nah, she ain’t cheat. I was just in the moment. You know how us guys do. I’d like to take the time to apologize to you, Faith, and let you know I love you. I’m here for you, always.”
The couple has no children together and it’s unknown if they have a prenuptial agreement.
Evans was previously married twice, once to Christopher Wallace, better known as the late, great, The Notorious B.I.G., and to Think BIG record executive Todd Russaw.
This is Stevie J’s first marriage. He has six children from previous relationships.
