Almost 12 years after her death, Aaliyah still manages to find herself in the middle of a lawsuit concerning the rights to her music. Reservoir Media Management is suing Craze Productions for the alleged illegal selling of songs from Aaliyah's double-platinum albums, Aaliyah and One in a Million, on iTunes.

Reservoir Media affirms they have had complete ownership of the "Rock the Boat" singer's music since last year. According to TMZ, the company wants any more sales of Aaliyah’s tracks on Craze prohibited and seeks compensation.

The songstress died on August 25, 2001, in a tragic plane crash in the Bahamas. Only 22 years old at the time of her death, Aaliyah’s legacy continues to be a strong force in R&B today. It has been widely reported that hip hop star Drake has been commissioned to executive produce a posthumous Aaliyah album. The YMCMB rapper-singer has two tattoos that pay homage to the late singer.
