Cynthia Erivo is manifesting a legendary Marvel role.

While attending the National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York City on January 7, the Tony-winning actress shared her dream of embodying Storm, the weather-controlling mutant from the X-Men franchise.

When asked what “dream role” she’s looking forward to next,  the 38-year-old shared, “I really want to play Storm,” referencing the iconic character first brought to life on the big screen by Halle Berry in 2000’s X-Men

“I know it sounds frivolous, but I think we haven't uncovered how grand she is, and all of that inner turmoil she has,” she explained. “So I think there's a world in which we could do something with that.”

Storm, who first appeared in Marvel Comics in the 1970s, is one of the most revered characters in the X-Men universe. Known for her ability to manipulate weather and her striking white hair, the character has been portrayed by a series of powerhouse actresses.

Berry famously reprised her role as Storm in several X-Men films, including 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. In recent years, Alexandra Shipp played a younger version of the character in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse and 2019’s Dark Phoenix.
