Usher to Executive Produce Education Documentary

Singer joins film about U.S. dropout rate.

Usher has a new passion project in the works that has nothing to do with music. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the multi-Grammy winner will executive produce the documentary Undroppable, tackling America's dropout epidemic.

Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber's manager, turned the R&B star onto the film. Braun is one of the five Undroppable producers. "I knew Usher was very passionate about the issue of education, so I felt this was a great project to bring him into," said Braun. "His expertise will be invaluable as we continue this film and movement."

A social media campaign allowing students to upload videos detailing their personal obstacles will coincide with the film's launch.

Ursh has dabbled in the movie business over the years, and recently landed a role playing Sugar Ray Leonard.

Undroppable, which is written and directed by Jason Pollock, is expected to wrap up this year and debut in 2014.
