Before the trial of Betty Shelby begins, the former Oklahoma officer sat down with 60 Minutes to discuss the shooting of 40-year-old Terence Crutcher.
In September of 2016, Crutcher's car stalled in the middle of a roadway. Shelby saw a man standing in the middle of the road and called for backup. Several officers as well as a helicopter came to the scene. The camera from helicopter captured Shelby shooting Crutcher.
Crutcher died as a result of the shooting and Shelby was charged with manslaughter. However, during the 60 Minutes interview, Shelby claimed she was used to be made an example.
Shelby said that Crutcher would still be alive if 'he would have complied'
She also suggested that people are coming after her like a 'lynch mob'
