Kevin Hart Expresses Sympathy for Tom Brady's Roast Regrets

After the retired football legend revealed concerns about jokes targeting his exes during the Netflix "Roast of Tom Brady," Hart empathizes with Brady's reflections on the impact it had on his children.

Kevin Hart is showing some sympathy for Tom Brady after the retired football player expressed "regrets" about jokes made about his exes, Gisele Bündchen and Bridget Moynahan, during the “Roast of Tom Brady” Netflix special that premiered in May. Brady shared that the jokes impacted his children, adding to his concerns.

During an episode on “The Pivot” podcast, the NFL veteran expressed that while he didn’t mind when the jokes were aimed at him, he didn’t like how it affected his children.

“It’s the hardest part about like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world,”  he said.

“So it makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naive you don’t know or you get a little like, ‘Oh s–t!’”

In an interview with Bleacher Reporter, Hart, who also appeared during the roast, told the outlet he “sees” where Brady was coming from.

“I can side with time and see where he’s coming from and just him wanting to protect the idea of family and the conversation attached to that. That’s probably where that’s coming from,” he said.

“And you know, I’m not privy to whatever he dealt with after, so I know his response and saying something about it was a result of possibly that. When he says he regretted doing it … I think he’s saying, ‘I could have tapered it a little differently, or [had] a conversation pre-[roast], of like, ‘Guys, let’s go and do this, but let’s not touch this or this.”

Hart continued, “The idea of going all in and just saying, ‘I don’t care, because I know the world would love to see me being on the receiving end of s–t because I’m Tom Brady and I’ve been at the highest stage all my life,’ I think it was that.”
