Is Raz-B Responsible for Fake Omarion Press Release?
It must have been a shock for former B2K crooner Omarion to find out an unauthorized press release making claims about his sexuality was serviced via PRLog on Saturday (Jan. 8) by a fake publicist named Sharron Wright. It read:
“I pride myself in being an honest, God Fearing, respectful man. I hve kept my personal life private and wanted to keep it that way. Unfortunately, others are interested in profiting from my anguish; so before they can do that, I will clarify things. I am not at all what certain ex-band members are trying to paint me as, I am however a respectable, mature, proud, bisexual man.”
Omarion, who learned of the news while traveling, fired back on twitter, making clear he did not release the statement, pointing out, “whatever you like is your business but I ain’t gay or bi-sexual.”
What was most shocking to the 26 year-old was how quickly the media reported the news with no verification of its authenticity. He told Funkmaster Flex of NYC's Hot 97, “people have to start doing their research a little bit more – especially with celebrities and superstars...you can't just believe everything that you hear."
Rumors about Omarion’s sexuality have been a ubiquitous part of the singer’s career. This is not the first time he has had to publicly deny this type of allegation. In a 2010 interview with the Grape Juice, Omarion responded to homosexuality claims from fellow B2K member Raz-B in which he accused Raz of “searching for attention.” Is it being speculated that Raz-B is also is responsible for the tasteless publicity stunt. My guess is a BK2 reunion is unlikely.
