Jennifer Hudson Opens Weight Watchers Center in Chicago

This is the first time that Weight Watchers has put one of its brand ambassadors' names on a center.

She's won a Grammy, an Oscar, lost 80 pounds in public and, now, Jennifer Hudson has a weight loss center named after her.
The singer, actress and Weight Watchers spokeswoman was in Chicago Tuesday to help inaugurate The Weight Watchers Jennifer Hudson Center in the city's South Side. Data shows that 63% — or 1.5 million residents — in the Hyde Park area, where the center is located, are overweight or obese.
"I am honored that Weight Watchers has put my name on a center in my hometown of Hyde Park, in the city of Chicago," said Hudson. "Weight Watchers has helped make my new lifestyle a reality by teaching me the tools I needed to be successful."

This is the first time that Weight Watchers has put one of its brand ambassadors' names on a center.
Weight Watchers plans to donate a portion of the center's revenue to the Julian D. King Gift Foundation, named in honor of Hudson's late nephew, who was killed in October 2008 along with Hudson's mother and sister. The foundation provides stability and positive experiences for children so that they may grow up to become productive, confident adults who are positive influences on their communities.
"I am also so grateful to Weight Watchers for giving a portion of this center's proceeds to my foundation."
