Glee Star Cory Monteith Dead at 31
It was a tragic weekend for Hollywood. Cory Monteith, one of the stars of popular series Glee, died in a Vancouver hotel room, local police confirm. The actor, who struggled for years with addiction, was 31. While awaiting the results of the autopsy, the young star's friends and co-stars are tweeting their condolences.
"I hate 2 see such a great young actor leave us so soon," says NeNe Leakes, who guest starred on several episodes of the hit show. "RIP @CoryMonteith, my prayers are with you."
Rihanna added, "May your spirit be at peace, and may you fly with the angels. Heartbreaking, my prayers are with all his loved ones."
Even new mom Kim Kardashian broke her Twitter silence to offer condolences, and sent a special message for Monteith's co-star and girlfriend, Lea Michele. "Just heard about the death of Cory Monteith," she said. "So sad. Prayers 4 his family. Praying for Lea too! Words can't describe what they must be feeling."
Monteith was scheduled to begin filming season five of the massively popular show in August.
