Steve and Marjorie Harvey Announce Mentoring Weekend
Steve Harvey and his wife, Marjorie Harvey, have decided to start a new tradition for The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation. Following the success of its debut in 2010, the happy couple will host the second annual Girls Who Rule the World Mentoring Weekend. The program is designed to aid teenage girls of various backgrounds as they tackle the pressures associated with teenage life.
The three-day, two-night program will be held on October 28−30, 2011, at the Marriot Evergreen Conference Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The young girls will be met by influential women from the business, music and entertainment worlds, who will bestow their personal blueprint for success while helping the young women establish their long-term goals. In a press release for the looming event, Marjorie recalls the positive impact last year’s events had on the ladies and how they hope to build on that success with feature mentoring weekends.
She said, “I am so proud of what we accomplished last year at GWRTW. It was a weekend of personal lessons, encouragement, music and fun! This year we hope to expand on all that was taught last year and also continue to encourage them, boost their self-esteem and let them know that we love and support them.”
The submission deadline is September 12. Go to girlswhoruletheworld.com for more details.
