Couple Who Pointed Guns at BLM Protestors in St. Louis Spotted in Wisconsin to Support Shooter Kyle Rittenhouse
The Missouri couple who were accused of aiming guns at police violence protesters in St. Louis showed up in Kenosha, Wis., to give their support to Kyle Rittenhouse, whose trial for the fatal shooting of two people and the wounding of another during a similar demonstration in 2020 is in jury deliberations.
Mark McCloskey, a personal injury lawyer who is running for U.S. Senate, and his wife Patricia, were spotted in Kenosha, advocating for a not guilty verdict in the trial. "We feel this is all politically motivated and that Kyle did nothing but defend himself as did we a year ago," McCloskey said, according to St. Louis station KMOV. "And we're hoping that the jury agrees and finds him not guilty on all counts and he go on a free man."
Rittenhouse faces five felony charges, the most serious of these could have him serve a mandatory sentence of life in prison. Closing arguments in the trial were completed on Monday (Nov. 18) and Judge Bruce Schroeder has sent the case to the jury for deliberations, which are expected within days.

The couple was indicted for the July 2020 incident in which they claimed to be defending their home as marchers walked by and were captured on video brandishing weapons and aiming the firearms. They pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges. But they were pardoned By Missouri Gov. Mike Parson in August.
Meanwhile as deliberations continue in Kenosha, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has called up 500 National Guard troops for deployment ahead of the Rittenhouse verdict. "I urge folks who are otherwise not from the area to please respect the community by reconsidering any plans to travel there and encourage those who might choose to assemble and exercise their First Amendment rights to do so safely and peacefully," said Evers in a statement.
