There's Going To Be A Black Powerpuff Girl And Some Racists Are Big Mad
The terrific trio of Cartoon Network, The Powerpuff Girls, is getting a new addition to the squad and she's fun, fierce and Black.
While Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom's new buddy gears up for her big reveal to the world during the Powerpuff Girls: Power of Four five-part "movie event" on September 17, some fans of the cult classic have taken to Twitter to express their racist disapprovals of a Black addition to the group.
Before getting to the problematic gripes of the racist and overgrown trolls, let's meet the voice behind the new member of the Powerpuff Girls family: Toya Delazy.
While the network has only released the silhouette of the new character on social media, with her name remaining mystery to excited fans, Delazy took to Instagram to express her gratitude for being given the exciting new role.

After Delazy shared her sweet message, Jamie Ondarza, Senior Vice President at Turner Broadcasting in Southern Europe and Africa, released a statement confirming that she is the "perfect fit" for this next era of the iconic cartoon.
"Toya is definitely a perfect fit as the fourth Powerpuff Girl," she told NME. "She is confident, bubbly, and quirky, all the values that we are familiar with, love, and appreciate. We have a lot of surprises up our sleeves."
While many, like Ondarza, are thrilled to see the diversity represented in the timeless animation, some are seething at the fact that she's not white, like the others. Take a look, below, at some of their reactions:
