Joakim Noah Apologizes for Homophobic Slur

Déjà vu: Another NBA player comes under fire for his foul mouth.

Did we learn nothing from Kobe Bryant? Just one month after the Los Angeles Laker got fined $100,000 for mouthing a homophobic slur, Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah was caught on tape hurling the same insult during Miami’s Game 3 victory on Sunday night.

Noah yelled “fu-k you faggot!” to a fan who heckled him after he drew his second foul early in the first quarter. After the game, the ball player was already throwing out the excuses and “I’m sorrys” and explained:   "A fan said something, and I said something back. I apologized. I don't know what's going to happen. I got caught up. I didn't mean any disrespect to anybody.”

No word yet on whether or not Noah will receive the same penalty handed down to Bryant but during that fiasco, NBA Commissioner David Stern clearly stated, “"While I'm fully aware that basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated... Kobe and everyone associated with the NBA know that insensitive or derogatory comments are not acceptable and have no place in our game or society."

Noah's unfortunate choice of words also comes a week after Pheonix Suns executive Rick Welts publicly came out as gay.
