Wait, Is This Proof That Drake Got His ‘KiKi’ Line From Jay-Z?
Thanks to Instagram comedy sensation Shiggy and hip-hop’s ever-emotional Drake, “KiKi” has had everyone in their feelings this summer as the #InMyFeelingsChallenge continues to take off.
But this isn’t “KiKi’s” first rap rodeo. In fact, she may have been around since the early 2000s, according to a hilarious fan investigation that discovered her in Jay-Z’s “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)” music video — well, text messages from her, anyway, and fans have finally deduced that Drizzy might have conjured up the infamous KiKi from none other than the hip-hop OG numen himself, Hov.
The first key piece of evidence is found in the 2000 video for the gold-certified summer smash hit
A screenshot captured from the video shows the notorious “KiKi” texting a then-unwed Hov an inviting message: “Jay—I’m in the bedroom,” she sends from a Motorola Timeport phone. In another scene, Jay is seen with another lady on his arm, but is visibly pleased to have gotten the text from “KiKi.”
Their second finding: Jay’s ‘Excuse Me Miss’ visual
In the 2003 music video, no “KiKi” is in sight. And this time, it’s Hov who’s sending a message that rings a bell from Drizzy’s second question to “KiKi” for “In My Feelings.”
“You riding?” Jay writes in his letter to the love interest of the visual. It’s signed off by S.C., his Sean Carter initials.
Now, there’s a pretty reasonable chance that this could all be a coincidence
After all, fans have also uncovered rather convincing proof that there might actually be a KiKi in Drake’s life after all. But we’ll let you be the judge to decide which theory is more practical after taking yet another listen to his “In My Feelings” hit below.
