Common is best known for his steady voice and positive lyrics, but he's now becoming more well known in literary circles as well. The Chicago emcee, released his first book, One Day It'll All Make Sense, on September 13 and it popped up in the New York Times Book Review on October 2 (according to the Times, "Rankings reflect sales for the week ending September 17, 2011"). In the next week's edition it climbed up to number 18.

As previously reported, the author embarked on a press tour, talking to various outlets about his writing process. Fortunately for him the word seems to have spread and people are going out and buying copies.

Hiphopdx.com reviewed the autobiography and had this to say: "The deeper you delve into the book, the more you will feel that Common doesn't mind shattering the “conscious artist” stereotype that has shadowed his career. He is so candid at times it's refreshingly hilarious..."

Hopefully Common's newest work will continue to gain readers and climb up the literary charts. Fans have seen him go from rapper to model to actor and now he's adding author to the list. It looks like he's already succeeding in his new art.
